Gaynor Southerton left Liverpool thirty years ago where she was a training instructor with a major mail order catalogue company. After moving to Plymouth she ran a playgroup whilst her children were small and then moved on to become the management accountant for a commercial radio station. 3 years ago she had to cope with the life changing blow that she had Multiple Sclerosis. Gaynor did not give up but was determined to adapt to her new situation and feels that being encouraged to attend the REATCH Day Centre in Whitleigh was key to moving her forward. She now produces a monthly newsletter for REATCH and is Chair of their Comfort Fund Committee. Joining the DAN (Disability Action Network), which is part of the Guild, has also led to her becoming a member of the Physical and Sensory Disability Partnership Board in the City.
