Walking Groups
Sharon Hobbs is Active for Life's new walk assistant. She will be leading health walks for everyone to access so we can support you to get fit, but meet new people and enjoy yourself at the same time.
We are working in Partnership with the National Marine Aquarium and holding regular walks on the Hoe and Barbican for everybody to access.
There will be a choice of 2 routes:
- a short route, (approx 30 mins), around the Barbican which is flat, wheelchair friendly and at a pace everyone can manage
- a longer route, (approx 45-60 mins), around the Hoe which is a bit hillier and at a slightly quicker pace.
The longer walk will begin at 11.30am, walkers are asked to meet at the National Marine Aquarium at 11.15am.
The short route walk will begin at 1.30pm with everyone meeting at the Aquarium at 1.15pm.
Every walker must complete an Outdoor Health Questionnaire before taking part in the walk, this can be done with us on the day before the walk takes place (if you arrive at either 11.15am or 1.15pm), or if you prefer, you can download a form below and bring it with you already completed.
You only need to complete these forms once, and it's important everyone does this so that you can take part safely.
Everyone is welcome to attend these walks free of charge, afterwards we will meet up in a Cafe where walkers are welcome to get themselves a coffee and have a chat.
We look forward to seeing you there.
