Who we support

Part of the City since 1907, Plymouth Guild has been supporting people in Plymouth for over 100 years with information, advice and practical support.

We support people with disabilities and health and social care needs with the provision of high quality services that are shaped by our users. We also help people to find voluntary work that suits them and support organisations to provide high quality volunteering opportunities.

Period of change

We have been making a number of changes at the Guild to ensure that we can provide good accessible services that make the best use of our buildings in the city. We are now operating Active for Life, the Disability Information and Advice Centre (DIAC), the Hearing and Sight Centre (HAS), Patient Support and the Volunteer Centre from our Buckwell Street offices in the city centre. The Ridleys Centre for people with learning disabilities was relocated to new premises as part of the thriving Mutley community last year.

A fond farewell

After running the Women's Refuge in the city for over 30 years we decided that the time had come to pass this work on to the Housing Societies who undertake this work across much of the rest of the country. The Carr Gomm Charity will be running the Women’s Refuge in Plymouth from the 12th of May 2008. If you want to contact the Refuge the numbers are unchanged. Please ring the Confidential Helpline: 01752 562286 or Email: help@plymrefuge.org.uk.

We want to develop this web site to make it useful to you so please contact us with suggestions.
