Plymouth DBUG
Plymouth Disabled Bus Users Group
Plymouth DBUG was established in September 2008 to pressure bus operators to improve their services for disabled bus users.
There have been some lively discussions about bus driver attitude, driver training, bus design and infrastructure such as bus stops, dropped kerbs and routes.
It isn’t all criticism though. DBUG has establish productive
relationships with bus operators in the city and by working together, improvements are on-going.

DBUG on the Buses!
Members of the Disabled Bus Users Group, Holly Chilton, Alan Parsons and chair David Cumbers are now appearing on the side of one of First Devon and Cornwall’s UGO buses and can be seen travelling around Plymouth on one of the latest additions to its fleet.
The UGO buses feature different people going places on the bus with the phrase, ‘wegowhereugo’.
DBUG members were invited to take part in the new logo campaign and went to First’s offices at Chelson Meadow to have their photos taken to be enlarged and fixed to the side of a UGO bus.

When the UGO photographer got his photo taken while taking a photo of DBUG members things quickly became a laugh a minute!
Next time you’re out and about, see if you can spot Holly, Alan and David on the DBUG UGO bus

DBUG meets with bus operators on a quarterly basis. Membership is free so if you’re interested in joining contact the chair of the group, David Cumbers on 07966 515928
