Train of Events

The Train of Events Programme is completely FREE for anyone over the age of 16 interested to be Volunteer Event Stewards.
Volunteer Events Stewards are important assets at any events as they provide a safe environment to participants and spectators at events. The programme is looking to increase the number of qualified Volunteer Event Stewards in Plymouth in preparation for the coming 2012 Games.
On completion of the course you will receive;
- An accredited Level 2 qualification in City and Guilds in Spectators Safety
- Volunteer at various types of events that could be annual or once in a lifetime events
- Information sent to you about different events going to be held in and around Plymouth
- Help you with your placements at the events you are interested to volunteer at
- Advice on volunteering at these events
During the course; - You will receive supervision and support during the training course
- We offer some support to course participants with childcare cost to attend the training. Please ensure you include this information in the application form that you require the support.
It is a 4-day course (one day a week) on the following dates at
Plymouth Guild, Ernest English House,,
Buckwell Street, Plymouth PL1 2DA:
- 25th November 2008, Tuesday (9.30am – 4.00pm)
- 1st December 2008, Monday (9.30am – 4.00pm)
- 8th December 2008, Monday (9.30am – 4.00pm)
- 15th December 2008, Monday (9.30am – 4.00pm)
If you are unable to come in for the above dates, you can still apply. Please ensure you state the days you are available in the week to do the course. The other 4-day courses (dates yet to be confirmed) may fit in with the days you are available on.

Applicants are subject to a selection process due to a limited number of places available on the course. Please ensure you read and understand the volunteer event steward role outline (in the application pack) before applying.
