Volunteers Week 25th Anniversary

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Volunteers' Week Plymouth Guild is hosting a series of events from 1st - 7th June. Information days, taster sessions, exhibitions and fun activities for all ages will be taking place all week.

New Guild Advocacy Service

The Guild has successfully tendered for an Advocacy Service that will be part of our Disability Information and Advice Service (DIAC). The contract with Plymouth City Council Adult Social Care will be for a period of 3 years, starting 22nd June 2009.
The service will ensure that people with Physical and Sensory Disabilities and those with Long Term Conditions have access to good quality and timely advocacy that meets their individual needs and requirements.
HAS Piloting New Floating Support Service

The Guild working in Partnership with Plymouth City Council Adult Social Care
is developing a floating support service for People with Sensory Disabilities. Grace Mole the Guilds Hearing and Sight Centre Outreach Manager said, "This service could make a real difference to peoples lives and compliments the work carried out by the specialist sensory impairment workers. It enables us to take the Hearing and Sight Centre out into the Community. This 12 months pilot will determine the level of need in the city and give us a basis to build for the future."
