Active for Life New Walking Groups

Active for Life have received funding over 2 years from Devon County Council to develop some health walks in Plymouth and the surrounding area. We have been able to use the funding to appoint Sharon Hobbs is Active for Life?s new walk assistant for 1 day a week. Sharon will be organising regular walks open for anyone to come along to and enjoy. Sharon said ?I am delighted to have this new position at the Guild in addition to my voluntary work in the Hearing and Sight Centre.

Successful Open Day at Guild for Carers Rights Day

The Guild held it?s first Open Day in December for Carers Rights Day. The Guild services were joined by Plymouth CAB, John Grooms Livability, the Pension Service, Plymouth City Council Carers Team, A4E and Babcock to advise carers about income and pensions ? the theme for this year. Advice and information was available about the range of services provided by the Guild and its partners to support carers and disabled people. In many cases carers were able to get answers to questions about their finances and other matters sorted on the day.
