Plymouth Third Sector Consortium Launch Website
Posted on 3rd Jun
Plymouth Third Sector Consortium working with Plymouth 2020 is aiming to create sustainable and effective voluntary and community sectors (Third Sector) in the city, supported by high quality services. This includes practical support and strategic engagement to help shape local services, with engagement in the planning, commissioning and delivery of these services.
Fionna May, Consortium Development Worker, said “I am delighted that we have been able to launch this key communications vehicle for the Consortium and the Third Sector in Plymouth.” www.plymouthtsc.org.uk
The website is being launched at the Information Event for Volunteers Week in the marquee in the city centre. The website will be constantly evolving, not least with the addition of photos, logos and up-to-date events and news.
Fionna also said, “We are already developing phase 2 of the website to ensure it will be even more useful to third sector organisations in and around Plymouth.
Enhancements will include a members area that consortium members and the members of the assembly will be able to access. Through this members area information about the organisations can be added and updated by the organisations themselves. This data will then be published on the website, by agreement, generating an accessible and up to date directory of organisations in the city.
We will also include a members forum that will provide a place where organisations can discuss and ask questions about the third sector and get support and information from other organisations directly.
With the focus on giving support to third sector organisations there will be a support services directory. This directory will provide valuable information on
support and resources available to the third sector, and will be regularly updated to provide the latest information available.
Because the Consortium will be involved in various projects itself we will use the website to keep people up to date with these in a projects section. This will allow visitors to the website to find out more information about the consortium and find out what work it is undertaking.”
An assessment tool will also be built in on Phase 3 so that organisations can be helped assess their support needs.
