Volunteers Week

Volunteers Week is the 1^st to 7^th of June and takes place every year to recognise the massive contribution that volunteers make to the City of Plymouth.

This year on 15^th of June the Inspiring Volunteering Awards 2011 took place at Plymouth University with hundreds of nominations from organisations across Plymouth for the ten categories.

All nominees are invited to a red carpet, champagne style, glitzy awards night at the University’s Roland Levinsky building on Wednesday 15^th of June presided over by the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress where volunteers representing organisations and groups across Plymouth were honoured for their volunteer work and commitment. We feel that all those nominated were worthy of recognition so all nominees were presented with either a medal (for individuals) or a trophy (for teams).

The Inspiring Volunteering Awards 2012 will once again be a partnership with Plymouth Guild, Plymouth University and Plymouth Herald and we look forward to receiving nominations from Plymouth organisations acknowledging and commending the hard work of our wonderful Plymouth volunteers.
