Diary of Events
Monday 2nd June- Active for Life are looking for Volunteer Walk Leaders, if you are interested then your welcome to join a guided walk, leaving Plymouth Guild at 12.00pm. Please contact Dean on 01752 201766 for more details.
- Marquee in the Piazza (Armarda Way) with stands and activities relating to young people's volunteering - 10.00 to 4.00. Duke of Edinburgh Award Trailer.
- Launch of 'V' national youth volunteering programme
- Volunteer's Fair - 11.00am to 4.00pm at Plymouth University, Roland Levinsky Building with information stands, film screenings and a final year art degree show.
- Are you interested in becoming a Trustee? - then come and hear Trustees talk about their experiences, 5.00pm to 7.00pm at the Roland Levinsky Building.
- In the City Centre there will be a marquee with information stands and the Duke of Edinburgh trailer.
- The Governor Development Team will be promoting the work of school governors outside the Greenbank Restaurant, situated on level 7 of Derriford Hospital. This runs from 10.00am to 4.00pm. We hope to recruit new Governors from the staff and visitors.
Thursday 5th June (World Environment Day)
- In the City Centre there will be a marquee with information stands with an environmental theme and the Duke of Edinburgh trailer.
- Practical Conservation Taster Sessions with BTCV and Groundwork;
Taster One (morning session) - Practical work at a local tree nursery with Moor Trees. Work will include; planting hazelnuts, lining out seedlings and site maintenance. For more information and to book a place, please ring BTCV on 01752 519780/07740 899655.
Taster Two (morning session) - Practical conservation tasks at a local Nature Reserve, for more information and to book a place, please ring Groundwork on 07816 837415.
Taster Three (afternoon session) - Practical conservation with BTCV, removing vegetation, creating footpaths and building steps at Radford Woods, Plymstock. For more information and to book a place, please ring BTCV on 01752 519780/07740 899655.
Taster Four (afternoon session) - Practical conservation at a local Nature Reserve, for more information and to book a place, please ring Groundwork on 07816 837415.
- Open evening for the Plymouth Play Association at the Scrap Store, open 5.00pm to 7.00pm. Volunteers and Committee members are available to give tours and explain our work, which consists of a scrap store, art shop specialist craft boxes and resources for children. Nibbles and soft drinks will be available.
